Independence & Attribution
Grocery Compare Ireland is an independent, unofficial price comparison service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Tesco, Lidl, Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Aldi, Boots, Asia Market Dublin, or any other retailer featured in the app. Store names and logos are used solely to identify and compare publicly available pricing at each retailer.
Product and pricing information is compiled from publicly available retailer sources and from photos and receipts voluntarily submitted by users. Product images are a mix of retailer-published images and photographs taken by our users and contributed to us.
If you are a rights holder and believe content on Grocery Compare Ireland should be corrected, credited, or removed, please contact us at support@infofinder.ie and we will address it promptly.
Use of Service
Grocery Compare Ireland is provided on an "as is" basis. We aim to provide accurate data but cannot guarantee completeness, continuous availability, or error-free operation at all times.
Price Information
Prices and offers can change rapidly in stores. Always verify the final price at checkout before making any purchase decisions. We are not responsible for pricing discrepancies between the app and in-store prices.
Your Photos & Contributions
Parts of the app let you send us content: product photographs (including through "Snap & Win"), photographs of items and shelf price labels, a receipt when you report a scanning problem, product names and prices you type in, and your answers in "Match & Win". We call all of this your contributions. The following applies to everything you send.
- You keep ownership — you give us a licence to use it. You continue to own the copyright in the photographs you take. By sending a contribution you grant Info-Sphere Ireland Limited a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable and sub-licensable licence to store, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, display and distribute it in the app, on this website, and in material promoting the service. The licence is perpetual because a photograph published in the catalogue is relied on by every shopper who sees that product afterwards.
- We edit what you send, automatically. Contributed photographs are processed before they appear — typically cropped, rotated, resized, and separated from their background so the product appears on a plain background. We may also use automated tools, including third-party AI services, to identify what a photograph or receipt shows. You agree to your contribution being changed in these ways.
- The same photo may appear under several shops. The same product is usually sold by more than one retailer, so a photograph you contribute may be shown on each of those listings, not only the one you sent it from.
- It has to be yours to give. You confirm that you took the photograph yourself, that you are entitled to grant the licence above, and that the contribution is not someone else's picture — not a retailer's or brand's marketing image, and not an image found online. You are responsible for contributions sent from your device.
- No people, and no personal details. Please do not photograph people, and do not send anything containing personal information. If you report a receipt, cover or remove anything you would rather not send us — such as a loyalty card number, payment card digits, or a name — before you send it. Receipts are only ever uploaded when you choose to report one; scanning a receipt in the app does not send it to us.
- Published without a credit. Contributions appear in the catalogue without your name or any attribution, and you agree that we are not required to credit you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights you have in your contributions.
- Contributions are unpaid. Contributing is voluntary and we do not pay for it. Any voucher offered through Snap & Win is a goodwill extra on the terms below — it is not a purchase of your photograph and does not transfer ownership of it.
- We decide what is used. We are under no obligation to publish, keep, or continue showing any contribution, and we may reject, replace, or remove one at any time — for example where it is unclear, shows the wrong product, or is not a product at all. Contributions we reject are deleted.
- Asking us to remove something. If you want a photograph you contributed taken down, email support@infofinder.ie and we will remove it from the catalogue. We may not be able to recall copies already cached or distributed elsewhere.
Community Vouchers — "Match & Win" and "Snap & Win"
Two optional features let you help improve the app and, as a thank-you, make a complimentary third-party voucher available. Match & Win asks you to confirm whether two product listings are the same product. Snap & Win asks you to photograph products so the catalogue has a real picture of what is on the shelf. The following terms apply to both.
- Complimentary — not a reward or entitlement. Any voucher is a free, goodwill extra, not a prize, payment, or reward. It has no cash value and cannot be sold, exchanged, or transferred. Completing a challenge does not entitle you to a voucher.
- No guarantee of availability. Vouchers are offered subject to availability and while stocks last. We do not guarantee one will be available at any given time. The voucher type, value, the number of matches or photographs required, and either feature itself may change or be withdrawn at any time without notice.
- Provided "as is". Codes are sourced and issued automatically and may occasionally be unavailable, delayed, expired, or invalid due to technical issues, third-party changes, or error. If a code cannot be honoured, our only responsibility is to make another available if and when stock allows; we are not liable for any loss arising from a voucher you could not use.
- Third-party voucher and expiry. Each voucher is issued by, and redeemable only at, the named retailer (for example, Dunnes Stores), subject to that retailer's own terms, minimum spend, and the expiry date shown with the code. We are not the issuer and are not responsible for the retailer honouring it.
- Your voucher is kept on your device. Vouchers are delivered in the app and stored on your device only — we do not keep a copy you can sign back in to retrieve, because the app has no accounts. If you uninstall the app, clear its data, or lose the device, any unused voucher is lost and cannot be reissued.
- One voucher per person per day, per feature; fair use. Each feature has its own daily allowance: you can claim at most one voucher per day from Match & Win and one per day from Snap & Win, in each case per person (identified by email) and subject to anti-abuse checks. We may withhold or cancel vouchers where we reasonably suspect automated play, duplicate identities, or other misuse, and may suspend either feature at any time.
- Photographs must be genuine. Snap & Win exists to put real pictures of real products into the catalogue. Photographs that do not show the product you selected — random, unrelated, or deliberately misleading pictures — mislead other shoppers, and devices that send them may lose access to vouchers.
- Email verification. Claiming a voucher requires an email address and a one-time code we send to it, to confirm the claim is genuine. See our Privacy Policy for what we do with that address.
- Territory. The features are intended for users in the Republic of Ireland and are void where restricted or prohibited by law.
- Free to play; no purchase necessary. Playing is entirely free. No purchase, payment, or fee is ever required to play or to receive a voucher, and playing involves no stake of any kind. Participants must be at least 18 years old. These features are operated solely by Info-Sphere Ireland Limited; Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, these features in any manner.
Intellectual Property
App content, branding, design, and source materials are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law unless otherwise stated. Store names and logos belong to their respective owners. Photographs contributed by users remain owned by the user who took them and are used by us under the licence described in "Your Photos & Contributions" above.
Limitation of Liability
Grocery Compare Ireland is not liable for any losses resulting from reliance on app data, inaccurate prices, or service interruptions. Use of the app is at your own discretion.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the app changes — for example when a feature like Snap & Win is added. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its effective date shown at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
